Resident Rules

These rules are intended to establish structure, help us and you make your stay at Jahs House a positive and beneficial experience in your recovery. We want to help you in your new sober life. These rules are intended to make it easier for people to live together who aren't related while creating a harmonious environment that sober living can provide to people in recovery. 

  1. All instructions are to be given by the appropriate JAHS HOUSE representative. All concerns will also be taken to the representative or owners. You may also express your concerns and issues at the house meetings. Owners will be present at the house meetings.

  2. House manager must have an updated list of prescribed medications and over the counter medication that you are taking at all times. Any use or sale of illegal drugs or alcohol will cause forfeiture of rent and immediate discharge. Discharged residents may be readmitted if space is available and subject to management approval. But, you must immediately go to detox. You must be clean and sober and provide a certificate of completion from detox. There is never a refund for rent for any reason. Re-entry into Jahs house is on a case by case basis. 

  3. Every house resident will have assigned chores. Every resident will be responsible for keeping their own area clean and neat, including making up their bed every day; putting away of clothes and shoes; cleaning up behind yourself after use of restroom and kitchen. 

  4. Every resident will keep up with their hygiene. Meaning good, clean healthy hygiene. 

  5. Residents will attend daily meetings for the first 90 and 90. In addition there will be one in house meeting per week. You will be provided a meeting/work verification sheet that will need to be filled out by a supervising individual of the meeting or work place. Verification sheets will be turned in weekly at house meeting. No electronics during group meetings.

  6. The taking or using another resident's property including food without the owner's permission will result in immediate dismissal. ( We encourage community cooking, meal planning and sharing dinner time together. This is to assist in developing a family like structure.

  7. Tenant will not have any weapons on the sober home premise, home, or property.

  8. If you break it you buy it. If you mishandle, abuse, or destroy another's property you will be required to replace it. 

  9. a. Curfew is 11:00pm, except for verifiable work that goes passed curfew.

       b. Residents must furnish the house manager with their work schedule.​​

       c. Outside overnight stay is prohibited for the first year of good behavior. 

       d. No visitors allowed at the group home.
